2025 Recap: IntelliCAD 14, Developer Tools, and Ecosystem Momentum

Written by Jason Poitras | Tue, Dec 23, 2025 @ 12:49 AM

As we close out 2025, I wanted to share a brief recap of key developments across the IntelliCAD platform and the IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC).

Leadership and focus

In 2025, Dave Lorenzo retired from the ITC after many years of service. We are grateful for his leadership and contributions to the consortium. Following his retirement, we welcomed a new ITC President to continue the work of the consortium and lead the ITC’s next phase of work.

We also increased our focus on business development and marketing to expand awareness of IntelliCAD and better support member growth.

Developer momentum: IcARX, LISP, and Visual Studio Code

If you build CAD products or vertical applications, 2025 was a strong year on the developer side:

  • The IcARX API continued to mature, expanding ObjectARX® compatibility to help teams port existing ARX applications to IntelliCAD.
(See IcARX highlights in the IntelliCAD 14.0 and 14.1 release details.)

  • The LISP engine is faster and more capable than ever, including support for compiled and fast-load LISP applications (FAS/VLX).
(See LISP improvements in the IntelliCAD 14.1 release details.)

  • We also support modern debugging workflows, including Visual Studio Code integration for IntelliCAD LISP development.
    (Introduced with IntelliCAD 14.0.)

Community and ecosystem

We brought members together at IntelliCAD World 2025 in Seoul to share insights and help shape future priorities.

Throughout the year, ITC members shipped a steady stream of IntelliCAD-based releases across industries, including:
